Cap Knight
Having been born and raised in the Philadelphia, Penna. area, I was involved in teaching and coaching for 33 years. Working on the middle school level for most of my career, I coached and taught Paul McLarnon many years ago. Our friendship was rekindled in the 90's when I discovered that Paul was living in Alaska. Over the next 10 years, Paul and I collaborated on some very creative, interactive ( Videoconferencing/ website) curriculum surrounding life in Alaska and dog mushing.

In 2007, Paul invited me to do the 3 day shake down run. Although I could not come back up north for the actual run in February of that year, we agreed to make it happen again. And here we are!

I consider the curriculum development that Paul and I coordinated to be a high point of my professional teaching experience. Now, the opportunity to actually travel the Serum Run with a group of talented mushers and snow machiners is almost too good to be true!

I am married with two adult, married sons, and one new granddaughter! My interests include sailing, windsurfing, winemaking, PSU football and travelling. I currently tutor college students ( part time ) at a local College.
