I grew up in Germany and traveled
all over Europe. I moved to North Carolina my third year of college
where I completed a bachelor’s degree. After graduating from
the University of North Carolina School of Pharmacy in 2006, I welcomed
the opportunity to work with public health and begin my career in
government healthcare. I fell in love with Alaska while completing
a pharmacy rotation in Juneau in 2005. A desire for adventure and
the ultimate challenge landed me in Anchorage, Alaska in 2006. My
profession as a pharmacist affords me the opportunity to meet with
patients and provide them with medication related information that
can positively impact their lives. When I am at work, I enjoy being
a team player, staying abreast of the latest medical advancements,
and being a patient advocate. But, during my time off, I live for
all that Alaska has to offer: the wonderful people, the magnificent
terrain outdoors, and the vast array of wildlife.
Being 1 of 5 kids, I really enjoy going home
to North Carolina and spending time with my family. I am an avid
photographer and traveler and tend to keep a bag packed at all
times to be prepared for any last minute getaways. I love the
outdoors and the beauty encompassed therein, so whenever I have
an opportunity to explore it, I gladly take it.
I am most excited
about the upcoming opportunity I have to participate in the Norman
Vaughan Serum Run. Being a first time participant in 2009, this
challenging run will combine my love for patient care through
education with my love for the great. I feel very honored to take
part in this mission! I look forward to the impact I may have
on the people’s lives in the villages along the trail and
to experiencing the serenity and splendor of Alaska’s backcountry.
